By Wearing A Kippah You Are Honoring God
Kippot or yarmulkes are hemispherical or platter-shaped head coverings, usually made of cloth, suede or satin and worn by Jewish men as a sign of religious piety. When a boy or man wears one they are considered to be honoring God. One’s level of observance determines the amount of time one would wear a kippah. Orthodox Jewish men wear a kippah to fulfill the customary requirement that their head be covered at all times. Conservative and Reformed communities usually wear kippot during times of prayer including during the high holidays and during Shabbat.
